Linnea Weaver is a Speech and Language Pathologist with over 20 years of clinical experience in the evaluation and treatment of students with speech and language difficulties. During her undergraduate training at Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland, Ms. Weaver provided support services to students with disabilities. Her interest in directly helping students continued at Boston University where she was part of the team that developed Boston University’s services for students with Learning Disabilities. She also worked as a tutor there during her graduate school years. She received her Master’s degree at BU, with internships at Children’s Hospital Medical Center-Boston and the Carroll School in Lincoln, Massachusetts. Ms. Weaver received her Certificate of Clinical Competence through her post-graduate work at the Carroll School and has also worked in the Aphasia Research Center at the Boston Veteran’s Administration Hospital as a research speech pathologist.
Ms. Weaver is an essential member of the team of Weaver Center staff who developed the program for students with Learning Disabilities at Northeastern University. She also specializes in the treatment of study and organizational skills in children, adolescents and adults. While developing the Weaver Center, formerly Weaver Clinic, Ms. Weaver has created and supervised the therapeutic tutorial program, as well as the intensive summer tutorial. She is interested in practical solutions to students’ struggles with study and organizational skills.
Whether providing presentations to parent and teacher groups, or consultation to private and public schools, Ms. Weaver enjoys sharing ideas and offering pragmatic suggestions to professionals and parents. Her interactive and dynamic speaking style has made her a popular speaker at the Joint Conference on Learning Disabilities, as well as at many private and public schools. She has enjoyed developing and supervising programs for learning-disabled students abroad in such countries as Switzerland and Italy.
For evaluation, treatment, school consultation, program development and professional presentations, Ms. Weaver is an experienced clinician in the areas of language disorders, learning differences, and Attention Deficit Disorder.
