Dr. Michael G. Hehir is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Massachusetts experienced in neuropsychological testing. He obtained his Psy.D. from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. He attended Assumption College and obtained MA and CAGS degrees in Social Rehabilitation. His BA was obtained at the College of the Holy Cross.

In addition to his active clinical practice, Dr. Hehir also teaches assessment and evaluation courses in the graduate school at Assumption College. He has taught classes to educators on Attention Deficit Disorder and other learning style differences at Worcester State College. Dr. Hehir continues to provide consultation and training services to school systems and other professionals.

Trained and experienced as a general Psychologist, Dr. Hehir specializes in a number of areas. He has over 15 years of experience working with children and adults who are challenged by attentional and learning style differences. Dr. Hehir has developed and refined his skills in Neuropsychological, Projective and Educational testing, and produces evaluations designed to provide clear indications of strengths, challenges, and recommendations. In addition, he is skilled in providing school consultation and advocacy services for children, and his history in rehabilitation services enables him to support vocational change and advocacy.

Additional areas of specialty skills include his 20 years of experience assessing and treating substance abuse disorders in adolescents and adults, particularly in working with at-risk children. He has also worked extensively with adoptive children and their families. His work is goal directed, utilizing cognitive and behavioral therapies. His solution focused approach is designed to recognize the strengths of individuals and help realize the desired gains.

Dr. Hehir joined Weaver Center, formerly Weaver Clinic, in 1995 as the Director of Clinical Services. He was drawn to the clinicís effective track record and innovative programs. Since joining the practice at Weaver Center, Dr. Hehir has worked to advance and systemize the Self-Advocacy Method (SAM), which is at the heart of Weaver Centerís model of change. He continues to develop clinical model and training programs associated with the SAM program. Joining Weaver Center has allowed Dr. Hehir to fully integrate his strong clinical skills and energy to pursue his love of working with children and adults, and his strong commitment to using and developing programs focused on success.
